FOOD CHAIN SERIES

These games focus on the food chain concept, beginning with a simple hierarchy on land, in the air and underwater, and progressing to include the denizens of 4 aquatic habitats and exploration of 4 of the Earth’s major biomes and the multitude of creatures who live in them.

Global Mania takes place around the world! Young children can examine terrestrial, aerial, or aquatic food chains by learning about some of the residents of these three habitats. The feeding habits of different organisms are investigated in each habitat, allowing kids to develop and manipulate a small model of a food chain, right in front of their eyes. Creature cards have pictures of the animals on the front, and their names, both common and scientific, on the back. Recommended for children aged 3 to 6 years to help develop both co-operative and competitive play strategies.

Aqua Mania takes place in rivers, lakes, the ocean and coral reef! Kids can discover different aquatic habitats, and their inhabitants. In two freshwater and two saltwater ecosystems, the eating habits of different marine organisms are explored. While children become familiar with food chains, they can also learn about the creatures that compose them below the waves. Creature cards have the scientific classification of the animals, as well as some interesting information about them on the back. Recommended for children aged 6 to 9 years to help develop co-operative, competitive and team play strategies. Use our suggested play strategies or feel free to make up your own!

Biome-Mania explores four of the Earth’s major biomes! This set includes: Arctic Tundra, Hot Desert, Temperate Forest, and Tropical Rainforest. Some basic ecological concepts and terms are introduced, while players work on balancing a food chain of animals that inhabit these areas. Kids learn about these animals and the places they live along the way! Kids can collect Biome Tidbits about each of the biomes and take the Biome Challenge to increase the animal population. Creature cards have the scientific classification of the animal, as well as some interesting information about it on the back. Recommended for children aged 9+ years to help develop co-operative, competitive and team play strategies. Use our suggested play strategies or feel free to make up your own!
