SOCIAL INSECTS SERIES

These games focus on the social insect concept, using the models of a termite mound, a bee hive and an ant colony. Kids can be worker bees foraging for pollen and nectar or the masterminds behind a, hopefully, thriving ant colony.

Termite Mound (Coming soon!)
Introduces the basic concept of a social insect colony using
the model of a termite mound.    1 – 3 players. Ages 3+

Bee Hive
Bee Hive casts kids in the role of worker bees, busily collecting pollen and nectar, returning to the hive to save for later or turn into honey. These busy bees go back and forth from flowers to the hive to the flowers again, sometimes taking time out to conduct the everyday tasks required of the hive population – like guarding the entrance or helping to feed and care for the larval bees. All the while, kids are learning how a bee hive is structured and the roles of different types of bees in the hive. Recommended for children aged 6+ years to help develop co-operative and team play strategies. Use our suggested play strategies or feel free to make up your own!

Ant Colony
Ant Colony puts kids in charge of organizing the ants in one or two colonies in their quest to build a viable ant colony, complete with queen ant, ant hills, brood chambers, food chambers and tunnels. Take care! A dead end can leave the ants without any way to expand their colony. Watch out for raiding ants from a competing colony, they’ll raise your larvae to increase their own population! Kids learn how an ant colony is constructed, the roles of various kinds of ants within the colony and some amazing facts about ants in general. Recommended for children aged 9+ years to develop co-operative, competitive and team play strategies. Use our suggested play strategies or feel free to make up your own!
